How hard can it be to fill potholes? Why have some potholes gone unfilled for over a year?

What does this mean? Well, big picture, it means y’all are drinking locally brewed suds. Coming from Seattle, where there are nearly as many microbrews as Starbucks (OK, maybe not,) it’s great to see such avid support of the local stuff.

A Sweet ScentThe Honolulu Advertiser has a really nice article on local girl Kate Growney’s new Hawaii-inspired perfume line called Saffron James.
There are currently three fragrances in the line: puakenikeni, plumeria and white ginger, with a fourth (pakalana) in the works.

Putting Up a Red LightWhat have we here? The Hawaii state legislature rejected a proposal that would have allowed for cameras at intersections to take photos of cars running through red lights.
The main reason for the rejection? It was thought the cameras were being put in place to maximize revenues on traffic citations, not deter bad driving.
